I just realised a couple of days ago that the affordable practical ( hardtop) convertible has almost died out completely. Apart from the Golf and A3 convertible, I can’t think of one that survives

Nope, that’s been dead since 2010, the 308 CC since 2014, and the Megane CC since 2016.

No, they only make the 500C. And no, apart from the DS3 Cabrio, but that’s like the 500C.

TBH I’m okay with that. In the US they all seemed to be crap, now convertibles start at Miata/mustang/camaro.

Oh I’m definitely okay with it too, as they tended to be overweight and styled in a rather rear heavy way.

I have never seen, nor seen pictures of, nor read of, a convertible-hardtop Volkswagen Golf.

I like this a lot. The glass top is cool and the proportions are right.
You can tell they tried, as opposed to Ford with the focus cc
